Nestled within the picturesque landscapes of central Kentucky lies the ancestral abode of Lincoln’s mother. Here, visitors can explore reconstructions of the 1782 cabin and blacksmith’s workshop where President Lincoln’s father grew up and honed his craft.

Disc Golf: Challenge yourself on our 18-hole disc golf course, complete with 9 baskets, artificial turf tees, and both short and long tee options marked 1-18. Navigate through open holes, tunnel shots, and extreme doglegs, all set amidst trees, elevation changes, and natural obstacles. Accessible pavilion and restroom facilities are available near the parking lot, and discs can be rented or purchased at our golf pro shop or museum gift shop.

Fishing: Cast your line into the 7.6-acre Lincoln Homestead Lake, where you can reel in largemouth bass and channel catfish. Stay updated on the latest fishing conditions with forecasts from the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.

Gift Shop: Browse through Kentucky handcrafts and souvenirs at our gift shop, conveniently located among our historic cabins. Open Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from June 1st to September 30th.

Golf: Experience our regulation 18-hole golf course, designed to complement the natural landscape of Central Kentucky. With four tee options, players of all skill levels can find a suitable challenge. The course boasts Bermuda grass fairways, bent grass greens, and stunning views of lakes and rolling hills. Museum: Explore the museum at Lincoln Homestead State Park, where you can discover the original home of Lincoln’s mother and replicas of the 1782 cabin and blacksmith shop where his father grew up and honed his skills. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the residence of Mordecai Lincoln, the President’s beloved uncle, surrounded by charming split-rail fences and pioneer furniture that depict the rugged pioneer lifestyle. Please be aware that the cabins are currently closed for viewing due to scheduled maintenance of the buildings and artifacts.

Picnicking: Enjoy a delightful picnic experience at the park, complete with a picnic shelter, tables, grills, restrooms, playground, and ample parking near the cabins. The picnic shelter is available for rental and can be reserved up to one year in advance.

Lincoln Homestead State Park Golf Course

Lincoln Homestead State Park, nestled just north of Springfield, Kentucky, in Washington County, spans 120 acres and boasts a blend of historic and recreated homes belonging to Abraham Lincoln’s family. Our 18-hole regulation golf course takes full advantage of the natural rolling terrain of central Kentucky. Offering four tee locations, golfers of every skill level can find a suitable challenge. The course showcases Bermuda grass fairways, bent grass greens, and captivating views of lakes and stunning landscapes. Renowned designers Perry Maxwell, ASGCA, and J. Press Maxwell, ASGCA, crafted this course, which opened its doors in 1957. Perry Maxwell’s impressive portfolio includes renowned courses like Colonial CC in Fort Worth, Texas, and Southern Hills CC in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Cooler & Alcohol Policy: Please note that alcohol not purchased at Kentucky State Parks is prohibited by law on our golf courses. Personal coolers or any food or beverage storage devices are also not permitted. However, complimentary coolers, including ice, are available at each facility. We offer a variety of beverages, snacks, and sandwiches for purchase onsite.
